A free “Hope for Christmas” event for 250 children and their families whose housing has been impacted by the Maui fires will be held on Saturday at Hope Chapel in Kihei.

There will be holiday arts and crafts, family photos, live music, food, a hot cocoa station and gifts for the children. Miss Maui USA Casey Kekiwi, Miss Valley Isle USA Caia Souza and Miss Valley Isle Teen USA Sabrina Calma will also be in attendance.

“Alongside meeting physical and spiritual needs, one of the ways that we feel called to minister to the families and children impacted by the fires is to create new Christmas memories,” said Hope Chapel Lead Pastor Ben Prangnell. “We are so grateful to be able to have this opportunity to minister to our community this Christmas season.”
