Jack Conte is an American musician, filmmaker, entrepreneur, and co-founder/CEO of Patreon. His discography includes Nightmares and Daydreams (2007), Sleep in Color (2008), and the ‘VideoSongs’ series. He’s also one-half the musical duo Pomplamoose. Conte was born on July 12, 1984, in San Francisco, California. He attended The Branson School followed by Stanford University. He graduated in 2006 with a degree in music.

CAREER
Prior to success as a musician, Conte experimented with filmmaking. He served as sound designer, director of photography, and editor for the short film, Mei (2004). His credits include The Last Good Man (2006), Model Man (2006), Dark Matter (2007), and Magellan (2009). He lent his voice to the video games The Sims 2 (2004), The Sims 2: Open for Business (2006), and The Sims 2: Pets (2006). Conte launched his YouTube page ‘jackcontemusic’ in April 2007. In 2013, Conte and developer Sam Yam co-founded the crowdfunding venture Patreon, Inc. The company is headquartered in San Francisco, California. It provides the necessary business tools to set up a subscription/membership-based service. The platform allows artists to monetize their work by accepting funding directly from their fans/patrons. Patreon raised more than $47 million as of January 2016. The company announced in early 2017 that it had already sent upwards of $100 million to creators since going live.
