Jalon Daniels Biography:-

University of Kansas quarterback Jalon Daniels plays American football. Since the completion of the 2021 season, he has served as the Jayhawks’ starting quarterback.

In Lawndale, California, Daniels went to Lawndale High School. He had originally committed to Middle Tennessee State University before deciding to play collegiate football at the University of Kansas. Along with other colleges, Air Force, Army, Louisiana, and Syracuse all sent offers to Daniels; the only Power Five conference institutions were Kansas and Syracuse.

In his first season, Daniels started six games for the Jayhawks. That season, Kansas had a 0–9 record. In 152 attempts, he completed 76 of them for 718 yards, one touchdown, and four interceptions.

During camp, Daniels was beaten out by Jason Bean for the starting quarterback job. Daniels replaced Bean when he suffered an injury during a game against Kansas State on November 6. For the rest of the season, he would start for the Jayhawks. He only beat Texas in his starting role twice since 1938. The win against Texas also put a stop to other losing streaks, including 56 consecutive road conference games, 20 straight FBS opponents, and 8 straight overall defeats. After he was named the starter in 2021, the Jayhawks offence significantly increased, rising from averaging 15.1 points per game to averaging 37.7. The Jayhawks remained competitive in all three games despite his 1-2 record in three starts, losing the first two by a total score of nine. He had 860 yards, seven touchdowns, and three interceptions at the end of the year.

Daniels earned the starter spot going into his junior year after losing it to Bean the previous season. It marked the Jayhawks’ most successful start since 2009. For the first time since 2009, they also triumphed in the Big 12 conference opener. Daniels ran for 100 yards and scored five touchdowns overall versus Houston. He received many player of the week honours for his efforts, including the Manning Award Star of the Week, Walter Camp Offensive Player of the Week, and Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week. Additionally, votes were cast for Kansas to be ranked for the first time since 2009. He passed for a career-high 324 yards and 4 passing touchdowns in the Jayhawks’ game against Duke on September 23. Some outlets listed Daniels as a Heisman Trophy contender after the performance.
